Manchester United are reportedly unlikely to pursue a deal for Viktor Gyokeres during this summer's transfer window despite being heavily linked with the Sporting Lisbon striker during Ruben Amorim's time in charge of the Red Devils.
Gyokeres has been in outstanding form for Sporting during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 34 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions, and he is expected to be on the move during the summer market.
The Sweden international has an £83m release clause in his current deal, but it is believed that he could be available for around £55m, which would represent a bargain in the current market.
According to The Athletic, Gyokeres is expected to move to a club in the Champions League, while Man United are reluctant to pay out a large amount for a striker who will be 27 in June.
The Red Devils could yet secure Champions League football for next season by winning the Europa League, but it is believed that despite the recent speculation, Gyokeres is now unlikely to join Amorim's team this summer.

Gyokeres 'unlikely to join Man United this summer'
The report claims that Man United are instead expected to focus on either RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko or Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.
Sesko's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with Leipzig believed to be ready to let him leave this summer.
The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals and registered four assists in 30 appearances for his German club this season, while he has 33 goals and six assists in 72 games for his current side in total since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg.
There have been suggestions that Sesko will cost in the region of £70m, but he is much younger than Gyokeres and arguably has a higher ceiling despite the incredible numbers that the latter has put up since moving to Lisbon.

Sesko, Delap 'striker targets for Man United'
Delap, meanwhile, is also believed to be admired by Man United, with the 22-year-old said to have emerged as a genuine option.
The striker has scored nine times in 23 Premier League appearances for Ipswich this summer, and he is expected to leave Portman Road even if his club are able to keep their spot in England's top flight.
There is also thought to be interest from Chelsea in the Englishman, though, while Manchester City have the option to re-sign him.
Indeed, the Citizens are said to have a buy-back option worth £29.5m, which they could potentially take up to sell him on, as Erling Haaland is the undisputed starting striker at the Etihad Stadium.
Man United's current centre-forward options Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled this season, but the club have high hopes for 17-year-old Chido Obi Martin.
