West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Pardew says that midfielder Jake Livermore is unlikely to face any action from the FA after attempting to confront a West Ham fan.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Pardew has revealed that the Football Association has been "understanding" over an incident involving Jake Livermore.

After being substituted against West Ham United on Tuesday night, Livermore attempted to confront a Hammers supporter in the stands who had shouted abuse relating to his baby son, who died in 2014.

West Ham are currently investigating the incident, but Pardew says that he does not expect any action to be taken against the Baggies midfielder.

The 56-year-old told reporters: "He was hurt by the situation, as you'd imagine. The incident was what it was and the FA and everybody else are understanding of the situation.

"I don't think there will be a charge. It's a situation they need to look at very, very carefully.

"The support is encouraging in the climate of what happened. Anyone who's been through the trauma of losing a child would know the impact is massive."

West Ham recorded a 2-1 victory in the Premier League fixture at the London Stadium.
