West Ham United have confirmed that right-back Vladimir Coufal has undergone successful surgery on a groin injury.
The 29-year-old has been managing the problem for some time and was forced to miss last weekend's 1-1 draw at home against Newcastle United.
A club statement on their official website read: "The 29-year-old defender has been troubled by an ongoing problem and, following specialist consultation, underwent an operation in London on Thursday morning."

Good luck with your recovery, @Coufi5! 👊https://t.co/r2qk575DN4
West Ham's Head of Medical Richard Collinge added: "Vladimir's surgery went exactly as planned and he will begin his rehabilitation at Rush Green immediately."
It remains unknown as to how long the Czech Republic international will be sidelined for, but one report from Hammers News suggests that he could be ruled out for up to six weeks.
The absence of Coufal will likely see either Ben Johnson or Ryan Fredericks deputise at right-back – the latter started against Newcastle before being replaced by the former at half time.
