Novara boss Attilio Tesser has admitted that it would be "a dream" to sign AC Milan's Filippo Inzaghi.
Inzaghi, who has made just three appearances this season, is expected to leave the San Siro this winter after spending more than ten seasons with the club.
He has just six months remaining on his contract.
"It would be a great feeling to coach Inzaghi," said Tesser. "He is a player that any coach would like [in their squad].
"I know he is a great professional and it would be nice – it's a dream, but it's also one of many [other clubs].
"I've said it publicly that if it were possible, we would be interested."
In their first season following promotion to Serie A, Novara are in the relegation zone.
