Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Burnley.

After rounding off their perfect Europa League group campaign with another win on Thursday, Arsenal switch focus back to the Premier League with a home meeting against Burnley.

The Gunners may have impressed on the continent, most recently seeing off Dundalk, but their domestic form has led to questions being asked of Mikel Arteta's long-term future.

With his side down in 15th place heading into this weekend's meeting with lowly Burnley, Arteta cannot afford for his side to slip up again at the Emirates Stadium.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match in North London.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Martinelli has not played for the senior side since June, though he did get a run-out for the Under-23s earlier this week. The young forward is on course to make his first-team return by the end of the month.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 19 (vs. Everton)

Arteta defended his decision to rush Thomas Partey back for last week's derby defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The midfielder limped off in that game, missed the win over Dundalk and is out for another couple of matches.

Sead Kolasinac

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: December 13 (vs. Burnley)

Sead Kolasinac has been used six times in all competitions by Arteta this season but has been rendered doubtful for this game due to an unspecified injury.

David Luiz

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: December 13 (vs. Burnley)

David Luiz has missed Arsenal's last three matches since being involved in a nasty clash of heads with Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez. Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Arteta revealed that the centre-back will be assessed again ahead of the Burnley game.

Reiss Nelson

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: December 13 (vs. Burnley)

Reiss Nelson was left out of the side to face Dundalk because of a facial injury sustained in training. The young attacker, like Luiz, will undergo tests before it is determined whether he is okay to feature.
