Arsenal winger Theo Walcott: 'It is my goal'

Theo Walcott claims that Arsenal's equaliser at Old Trafford on Sunday was his goal, even though replays show it was going wide before being deflected in.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has claimed that the Gunners' equaliser against Manchester United today should go down as his goal.

The Englishman came off the bench and had been on the field for less than 10 minutes when his cross-cum-shot was deflected into the net by United substitute Tyler Blackett.

Replays show that Walcott's strike was going wide before Blackett's deflection looped the ball over another substitute Victor Valdes and into the far corner.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the match, Walcott said: "You've got to take every one you can. It's an important goal and I'll definitely claim that one."

By holding United to a draw, Arsenal remain above them in the table and will all but seal a top-three finish by avoiding defeat against Sunderland on Wednesday.
