Arsene Wenger pleased with Arsenal's second-half improvement

Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal completely dominated the second half of Sunday's Premier League draw with Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that his side completely dominated the second half of today's Premier League match with Manchester United.

The Gunners didn't have a single shot in the first half - the first time in over 10 years that they've failed to do so - but they rallied back in the second period to earn a point and stay above the Red Devils in the table.

Wenger admitted that United had the better of the first half, but felt that his side dominated the second period.

"They started stronger than us," Wenger told BBC Sport. "We were not totally in there but in the second half we dominated completely. Unfortunately we couldn't score a second goal but the chances were there."

Wenger was pleased to see both Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott feature from the bench, with the latter playing a key role in Arsenal's equaliser as his cross-cum-shot was deflected into the net by United defender Tyler Blackett.

"Jack is now back to a better level. Theo as well," he added. "When they score goals that is a sign. We have a big squad and we are competitive."

Arsenal remain two points clear of United and will all but seal a top-three finish if they avoid defeat in their game in hand against Sunderland on Wednesday.
