Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

Arsenal will be out to avoid a third successive loss in all competitions when they host Brentford in Saturday's Premier League London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men suffered just their second league defeat of the season against Everton last time out, as James Tarkowski's header gave the Toffees a 1-0 win.

However, Manchester City's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur means that the Gunners still hold a healthy five-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand, and victory here will see them temporarily go eight points clear of the champions, who have been rocked by charges of over 100 alleged financial breaches by the Premier League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the Bees, who eased past Southampton 3-0 last weekend.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Bournemouth)

Gabriel Jesus recently revealed that he is hopeful of returning from knee surgery in a few weeks' time, which could put him in contention to come back at the start of March, but Arteta is understandably taking a more cautious approach with his recovery.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Mohamed Elneny recently underwent his own operation to address a serious knee injury, and the Egyptian midfielder is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Emile Smith Rowe has now fully recovered from groin surgery, but the luckless playmaker suffered a setback a couple of weeks ago after sustaining a thigh issue. Arteta admitted in his pre-game press conference that Smith Rowe was not ready to return, and it is unclear when he will be back in contention.

Reiss Nelson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Reiss Nelson returned to training from a hamstring issue before the loss to Everton, but he was still absent from the squad. Despite having had a week to build up his fitness, Arteta has conceded that the attacker is still not ready for a return.
