The agent of Riccardo Montolivo has claimed that Arsenal made an enquiry regarding the availability of the AC Milan midfielder during the January transfer window.
The Gunners were in the market for a midfielder before they eventually signed Sweden international Kim Kallstrom on loan from Spartak Moscow.
However, Giovanni Branchini has insisted that his client was the subject of an approach from the North Londoners, as well as two other clubs in particular.
"Has there been interest from other clubs? There have been tentative enquiries from Atletico Madrid, [Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen] Klopp and Arsenal, to name a few," Branchini told Calciomercato.
Montolivo, 29, has a contract at the San Siro that does not expire until the summer of 2016.
