Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly makes Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko his top target ahead of the January transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly planning to make a bid for Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko in January.

The Gunners have taken just four points from their last four top-flight matches and they currently sit eighth in the Premier League table.

According to the Daily Mail, Wenger is to be given extra funds to ensure that his side qualify for next season's Champions League and the Frenchman has identified Dzeko as his top transfer target.

Dzeko, 26, came off the bench to score the winning goal as the Citizens beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Sunday.

Six of the Bosnian's nine Premier League appearances this season have been as a substitute and he recently expressed his frustration at being labelled a "super-sub".
