Leonardo Jardim 'has not spoken to Kylian Mbappe'

AS Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim claims that he has not held talks with in-demand forward Kylian Mbappe this summer.

AS Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has revealed that he has not held talks with Kylian Mbappe this summer, despite the constant speculation surrounding the future of the in-demand 18-year-old.

Mbappe scored 26 times for Monaco last season as the principality outfit landed the Ligue 1 title, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked with big-money moves for the teenager, but Jardim has claimed that he has not had a conversation with Mbappe, 'who knows how the club work'.

"I did not talk to him, because he knows how we work, that we want to keep him," Jardim told RMC. "I think the club and he will make the best decision.

"I hope to keep the right players. It is not [just] me, all the coaches of the world [would] like to keep the best [players]. But with the Monaco project, maybe it's not possible to always keep the best. We're going to look at what's going to happen."

Mbappe's 15 Ligue 1 goals during the 2016-17 campaign arrived from just 17 starts.
