Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has revealed that new signing Yacouba Sylla is continuing to improve after his arrival at the club in January.
Villa boss Paul Lambert signed Sylla from French side Clermont Foot on the final day of the transfer window, and Delph believes that the 22-year-old is ready to help his side's fight against relegation.
Delph told the club's official website: "He brings a competitive edge to training. If you train at 50%? That doesn't work for me. I have to train at 100%. Yacouba does that too.
"But there's more to him that just tackling and getting stuck in. He is a good player who is improving all of the time for us at the training ground.
"He got a feel for the action against Everton. He's ready to be called upon, definitely."
Sylla could feature when Villa host Manchester City on Monday evening.
