Aston Villa fans call for Alex McLeish sacking in local paper

Aston Villa fans heap pressure on Alex McLeish by taking out an advert calling for his sacking in the Birmingham Mail.

An Aston Villa fansite has funded an advert in the Birmingham Mail which calls for Alex McLeish to be sacked.

The £700 advert appears in today's edition of the paper and the Daily Mail understands that it was the result of a whipround by website myoldmansaid.com.

According to reports, the Birmingham Mail had no choice in publishing the advert as it is not offensive.

Villa, who had three players emboroiled in controversy earlier this week, are preparing for tomorrow's visit of Tottenham Hotspur.
