Luciano Vietto delighted with first start

Argentine forward Luciano Vietto reveals his delight after making his Atletico Madrid debut in Tuesday's Champions League victory away to Galatasaray.

Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto has revealed his delight after making his debut for the La Liga outfit on Tuesday evening.

The Argentine was selected by head coach Diego Simeone for the Champions League Group C match against Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Simeone had recently said that the 21-year-old would have to bide his time following a summer move from Villarreal, but the striker played his part in Atletico's 2-0 win in Turkey.

"I thanked my teammates for their confidence. I hope to keep getting minutes and continue being part of the team," Vietto told beIN Sports.

"It was a hard opponent at a tough stadium. The victory is very important. It builds confidence. We hope to continue like this and get past the group stage."

Vietto cost Atletico in the region of £15m from Villarreal in the summer transfer window.
