With the waiting finally over, Group E rivals Romania and Ukraine will kick off their Euro 2024 campaigns on Monday afternoon in Munich.
The first competitive meeting between the two nations sees a resurgent Romanian side arrive in Germany as qualifying group winners, while their opening opponents edged through via the playoffs.
We say: Romania 0-1 Ukraine
As Ukraine clearly pack more punch up front, a tight contest should swing their way and result in three precious points.
Romania managed to stay undefeated during qualifying, but a distinct lack of firepower means their dismal record at the Euros could continue.

Belgium and Slovakia will get their respective Euro 2024 Group E campaigns underway on Monday evening with an intriguing match-up at the Frankfurt Arena.
Romania and Ukraine are also present on what looks to be a very open section, and both Belgium and Slovakia will be determined to get their campaigns off to winning starts on Monday.
We say: Belgium 2-1 Slovakia
Slovakia are certainly capable of making this a tough match for Belgium, and it would not be a surprise to see the points shared on Monday. However, we believe that Belgium's superior attacking quality will allow them to open their tournament with a narrow success.

Austria vs. France (Monday, 8.00pm)

The Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf is the venue for Monday's closing Euro 2024 contest, as in-form Austria and title favourites France pit their wits against one another in Group D.
Das Team have never progressed past the round of 16 at the continental championships, while Les Bleus have two titles to their name but have some wrongs to right from three years ago.
We say: Austria 0-2 France
Even without Alaba manning the defensive wall, Austria have still been a particularly tough nut to crack during Rangnick's reign and have every right to dream of springing an early shock if their recent exploits are anything to go by.
France's preparations would no doubt have been impacted at least a little by their recent viral outbreak, but Deschamps's effervescent attackers ought to break through eventually and put an early three points on the board.
