Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Sociedad

Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Real Sociedad.

After dropping two points at home against Rayo Vallecano on matchday one, Barcelona will be looking to bounce back with a victory when they head to the Basque country to take on Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Despite having 21 shots and 68% possession across the course of the game, Barca were unable to breach their opponents' stubborn defensive rearguard, with debutants Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski both blanking.

Real Sociedad, who finished sixth in La Liga last season, will provide a stern test after beating Cadiz 1-0 on the road last weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Los Txuri-Urdin on Sunday.

Barcelona went into the opening weekend with a clean bill of health, and that appears to remain the case ahead of their second league game of the season.

Xavi made all five subs available to him during the draw against Rayo, with Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, Gavi, Pedri and Jordi Alba all withdrawn, but each of these changes appeared to be tactically driven as the 42-year-old chased a victory.

New signing Jules Kounde was not registered ahead of his side's first game of the season, with the former Sevilla defender having to remain patient once again this weekend as Barca desperately look to offload players from their wage bill in order to create space in their squad for the France international.

Barcelona will be missing their defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets through suspension this weekend, with the Spain international picking up a second yellow card in injury-time during the 0-0 draw with Rayo.
