Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has confirmed that he will remain at the club for one more season.
The Spanish shot-stopper had been linked with a move big-spending Monaco this summer, after refusing to sign a new deal at the Camp Nou.
His current contract runs out next summer, and despite admitting the pressure at Barca, Valdes has revealed that he will stay until his contract ends.
"I consider that my cycle as a Barcelona player will come to an end when my current contract expires in 2014," said the 31-year-old.
"I understand that with 18 months' warning there should be sufficient time to find the best solution for the club and the player.
"In January, I said I could see myself playing in other leagues, getting to know something different and looking for different sources of motivation."
Barcelona have been linked with the likes of Pepe Reina and Willy Cabellero as they continue a search for Valdes's successor.
