Thomas Muller has admitted that Bayern Munich made the "worst possible start" in their defeat to Porto in the Champions League this evening.
The German champions were beaten 3-1 at Estadio do Dragao in the first leg of their quarter-final, falling behind just three minutes in after conceding an early penalty.
The midfielder told UEFA.com: "The result is always tied to the performance. We got off to the worst possible start, but overall we weren't that poor in the first half.
"Then Porto were very defensive-minded. Their third goal was a setback for us, but mistakes happen. Now we have to win 2-0 at home to go through."
Thiago Alcantara scored Bayern's only goal, which will send them through should they beat Porto 2-0 at the Allianz Arena next week.
