Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will miss the first few games of the second half of the Bundesliga season.
Gundogan has not featured for Dortmund since the opening day of the campaign due to injury, while he was sent home early from their mid-season training camp after contracting bronchitis.
Klopp now plans to give Gundogan a few weeks to get back to full fitness before reintroducing him into the side as they look to improve on their current position of fourth in the Bundesliga table.
"As he's hardly featured during our preparations, he won't take part in the first two or three games [of the second half of the season]," Klopp told reporters.
Dortmund resume proceedings at home to Augsburg on Saturday before back-to-back away games against Eintracht Braunschweig and Werder Bremen.
