Bradford City see off MK Dons

Bradford City secure a 2-1 win over MK Dons in Monday evening's League One clash at the Coral Windows Stadium.

Bradford City have climbed into the League One playoff places after securing a 2-1 win over MK Dons in this evening's clash at the Coral Windows Stadium.

The first effort of the game fell to the hosts in the ninth minute, as Billy Clarke smashed a volley over the bar from 15 yards out.

Just before the half-hour mark, the visitors came close when Danny Green's free kick flew just over a yard above goal.

Nevertheless, MK Dons took the lead in the 54th minute, when Jordan Pickford's scuffed clearance was collected by Jonson Clarke-Harris and slotted through to Dele Alli, who coolly slotted home.

The Bantams equalised just a few minutes later when Gary Liddle headed the ball into the box towards Clarke, who controlled well before driving past David Martin.

In the 70th minute, the hosts got themselves into the lead, Jon Stead's through-ball to James Hanson being poked low into the bottom corner of the Dons net.

Both sides continued to trade shots in an open-ended game, but Bradford were able to see out the latter stages and secure all three points.

The result means that Phil Parkinson's charges are now sixth in League One, while MK Dons miss out on the chance to climb into the automatic promotion places.
