Ashley Young: 'Victor Lindelof's tackle on Anthony Knockaert changed the game'

Manchester United defender Ashley Young feels that Victor Lindelof's tackle on Anthony Knockaert was the turning point in his side's victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Manchester United defender Ashley Young has praised teammate Victor Lindelof's performance against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, saying that his tackle on Anthony Knockaert changed the game.

Lindelof put in a crunching challenge on Knockaert in the 55th minute, fairly winning the ball and sparking a reaction from the United players and fans.

The Sweden international has struggled since joining the Red Devils in the summer but was voted man of the match by the fans in the 1-0 victory against Brighton.

Young, who scored the winner for United via a deflection off Lewis Dunk, says that Lindelof's tackle galvanized the fans and proved a turning point for the home side.

"It was a good performance from Victor and it was a great tackle," Young told reporters.

"The referee said it was a good tackle and it lifted the fans. We got on the front foot even more after that."

The North-West side travel to Watford on Tuesday night, knowing that a win could take them to within five points of leaders Manchester City.
