Burnley midfielder George Boyd has claimed that it is vital the club warn off interest in full-back Kieran Trippier.
The 24-year-old has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, but Boyd believes that Trippier should stay put to help the Clarets win back promotion to the Premier League.
Burnley dropped into the Championship last month after picking up 33 points from their 38 games of the season.
"It's important we keep Tripps and everyone else stays," the Burnley Express quotes Boyd as saying.
"He's big with assists, and all the crosses he puts over in games are a bit part of the way we play, so hopefully he stays. I think if we can keep a similar squad together, we'll have a great chance [of promotion]."
Tripper joined Burnley on a permanent deal from Manchester City in 2012.
