Preview: Cambridge United vs. Bolton Wanderers - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League One clash between Cambridge United and Bolton Wanderers, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Promotion-chasing Bolton Wanderers will attempt to extend their unbeaten league run to four games when they travel to the Abbey Stadium for Tuesday's clash with Cambridge United.

Like their opponents, the U's will also be looking to continue their fine run of form, having avoided defeat in each of their last four matches in League One.

Cambridge have put together a four-game unbeaten run to move away from the relegation zone and up to 14th position in the League One table.

The U's began their promising run of form with a narrow 2-1 victory over Fleetwood Town, before they went on to play out consecutive goalless draws against Exeter City and Burton Albion.

Neil Harris's side returned to winning ways in Saturday's clash with Shrewsbury Town despite falling behind in the 12th minute.

However, the U's quickly pulled a goal back through Lyle Taylor, before the forward netted his and Cambridge's second goal to secure a 2-1 win and move his side seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Although they will now face a tough test against a promotion contender, Cambridge may fancy their chances of taking at least a point from Tuesday's fixture after losing just one of their last five home matches (W3, D1).

Bolton will be looking to reclaim second spot after they were knocked out of the top two by Derby County at the weekend.

While the Rams edged out Charlton Athletic, Bolton had to settle for a share of the spoils in their home meeting with Barnsley.

After falling behind in the fifth minute, the Trotters restored parity through Zac Ashworth's second-half effort, ensuring that they made it three consecutive games without defeat.

With Bolton set to head on their travels, they may be able to take confidence from the fact that they have won three of their last four league matches.

However, claiming all three points may be easier said than done, as the visitors have failed to win their previous three competitive away meetings with the U's.

Team News

The hosts are still unable to call upon Harrison Dunk, who is continuing to work his way back to fitness following a spell on the sidelines.

After dropping to the bench at the weekend, winger James Brophy could be recalled to the side for Tuesday's home fixture.

Having scored three goals in his first four appearances for the club, Taylor will be looking to add to his tally when he leads the line against Bolton.

As for the visitors, captain Ricardo Santos is unlikely to feature after missing Saturday's draw against Barnsley with a knock.

Bolton boss Ian Evatt is also expected to be without the services of Will Forrester and Randell Williams due to injury issues.

January addition Aaron Collins could be presented with his first start after he came off the bench to provide an assist on his Bolton debut.

Cambridge United possible starting lineup:

We say: Cambridge United 0-2 Bolton Wanderers

Cambridge may have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent weeks, but we think that their four-game unbeaten run will be brought to an end by a Bolton side that have won three of their last four away league matches.
