FIFPro, the worldwide representative organisation for all professional footballers, has pleaded with UEFA to reinstate those players suspended for the Champions League final.

Both Chelsea and Bayern Munich will be missing several players for the match at the Allianz Arena on May 19 after they picked up yellow cards in their respective semi-finals.

Roberto Di Matteo's Blues will be without Ramires, Branislav Ivanovic and Raul Meireles while the German outfit have Luiz Gustavo, David Alaba, Holger Badstuber all banned from the clash at their home stadium.

However, FIFPro has called on UEFA to adopt the discipline policy used at major international tournaments, where the yellow card count is scrapped at the quarter-final stage.

A FIFPro statement said: "Anybody committing a serious offence that results in a red card should miss the final, but offences that are just yellow cards do not justify the serious punishment of a player missing the match of their life."

Should the rule change occur, it would mean the aforementioned players would be available for selection, but John Terry would not be after he was sent off during Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Barcelona.
