Barcelona reportedly made contact with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte over potentially replacing Ernesto Valverde in the Camp Nou hotseat.
The Catalan giants are said to have sounded out candidates to take over from Valverde if they lost Saturday's Copa del Rey final meeting with Sevilla.
Don Balon suggests that Valverde's future as Barca boss depended on the result at the Wanda Metropolitano, with a resounding 5-0 win seemingly earning him a stay of execution.
According to the Spanish outlet, Conte was targeted - and may still be under consideration - for one of the biggest jobs in world football despite being on the brink of the sack at Chelsea.
Valverde is on course to win a domestic double in his first campaign with Barca, but defeat to Roma in the Champions League had left his position under scrutiny.
