Midfielder Mateo Kovacic says that he remains happy with his loan spell at Chelsea but reiterates that he is not thinking about his long-term future.

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic has reiterated that he is not thinking about his future past the end of this season.

The Real Madrid man is currently spending a year on loan at Chelsea, and the Croatia international has already made 15 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

The 24-year-old's involvement is an improvement on his spell at the Bernabeu, but the player insists that he only wants to focus on enjoying regular outings rather than contemplating the next move in his career.

Kovacic told Marca: "I wanted to be happy and at Chelsea I am. I just wanted to be happy and play matches, feel a responsibility within the team and I've found that at Chelsea.

"This is not the time to talk about anything other than playing and enjoying. I don't want to think about what will happen and do want to be happy doing what I like, which is to play football every week."

Chelsea do not currently have an option to buy Kovacic next summer.
