Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli in January.
According to The Sun, the Italian outfit are ready to sell the Argentina international striker, who joined them from Real Madrid in the summer, and that Chelsea are willing to spend as much as £48m for the 26-year-old.
Higuain played under Mourinho at Madrid for three years between 2010 and 2013 and has been in impressive form for Rafael Benitez's Napoli so far this season.
Chelsea's current three most recognised strikers, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba, have all struggled for goals this campaign, while Higuain has found the net 13 times in 21 competitive matches.
