Chelsea are believed to be lining up a club-record £71m bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The Spanish international has scored one goal while assisting another for Atletico this season, and Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to make Niguez part of his squad.
The report from Don Balon states, however, that Atletico boss Diego Simeone has no plans to let the 22-year-old leave the club.
Niguez renewed his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer and now has a £134m release clause, which the Spanish side expect to be enough to fend off interest from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata became the club's record signing this summer when he arrived from Atletico's rivals Real Madrid for £60m.
The Blues spent close to £200m in total during the transfer window, with the arrivals of targets including former Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko for £40m.
