Olivier Giroud eyes January Chelsea exit?

Out-of-favour Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud will reportedly try to force a move away from the capital in January, with Inter Milan one of the teams interested.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is reportedly eyeing a January exit from Stamford Bridge as he continues to struggle for game time under Frank Lampard.

The acquisition of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig has just made it harder for Giroud to be considered for starts at Chelsea, with the 34-year-old also finding it difficult to displace Tammy Abraham from the first XI.

Giroud was linked with a move to Serie A over the summer, which did not come to fruition, but the former Arsenal man is now in the final months of his contract in the capital and seems destined to leave.

According to football.london, Giroud will look to secure a move away from Chelsea in January rather than run his deal down, with Inter Milan keen on the France international.

Giroud is yet to start a Premier League game for Lampard's side this term and has been restricted to just 33 minutes of top-flight action, and the forward's only goal of the campaign came in Chelsea's 6-0 thrashing of Barnsley in the EFL Cup.

Despite his lack of game time, Giroud still retains the trust of France manager Didier Deschamps and has been included in the national squad for November's fixtures.
