Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is confident about the club's chances of keeping Barcelona-linked Cesar Azpilicueta for next season.
The Spaniard was due to become a free agent in the summer transfer window, but his deal has automatically been extended until 2023 after he recently met certain clauses.
However, Barcelona are still thought to be interested in bringing Azpilicueta to Camp Nou this summer, but Tuchel is remaining optimistic ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
"He's our captain, we want him to stay - there are very good chances," Tuchel told reporters, and the German boss previously claimed that there was a "high probability" Azpilicueta would remain at the club.
The 32-year-old will celebrate his 10th anniversary as a Chelsea player this summer and has won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Club World Cup at Stamford Bridge.
Azpilicueta has racked up 465 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Marseille in 2012 - scoring 16 goals and setting up 56 more in that time.
