Timo Werner has allegedly been removed from RB Leipzig's Champions League squad ahead of a transfer to Chelsea.
Earlier this month, it was suggested that the Blues had won the race to sign the Germany international after showing a willingness to activate the player's £54m release clause.
The most recent reports claim that Chelsea are looking to finalise a deal as soon as possible, potentially as early as this week.
According to Bild, a completed transfer appears to be a foregone conclusion with Leipzig taking the attacker out of their squad for the Champions League quarter-finals.
Although the last eight of the competition, expected to be played in August, will still count as the current campaign, neither party will want to risk an injury at this stage of negotiations.
Werner has contributed four goals from eight appearances in the competition since September.
