Roy Hodgson talks up the achievement of his players to round off their Premier League campaign with three wins in a row for the first time in more than a year.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has hailed the desire of his players following their three game winning run to see out the Premier League campaign.

The Eagles rounded off their season on a high by beating West Bromwich Albion 2-0 on the final day, coming on the back of victories over Stoke City and Leicester City.

After seeing his side finish just outside the top half of the division, level on points with Newcastle United in 10th, Hodgson was quick to praise the determination of his Palace squad to keep on going even after their safety was confirmed.

"I'm really proud of the players," he told Sky Sports News. "We've been safe for two games. And now to win all three is a fantastic achievement.

"We haven't won three games on the spin during the rest of the season and to be honest and when you're one of the teams in the bottom half of the table you don't win three games on the spin, so great credit to the players.

"They could have played at a lower tempo, played a bit of keep-ball and drifted to a draw or a defeat but we didn't do that. We showed we wanted to win the game and I'm delighted for the players and the fans.

"It's a great way to finish the season. Home game and a victory. It's a really nice end to what's been a topsy-turvy season for us."

Palace, who started the season with seven successive defeats, last won three on the spin in the top flight in April 2017.
