Joel Ward: 'We can't let Tony Pulis departure affect us'

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward insists that his side can't let the departure of Tony Pulis have an adverse affect on their Premier League campaign.

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward has admitted that he and his teammates are unsettled by the departure of Tony Pulis, but is adamant they have put their concerns behind them.

Pulis left the Eagles last week by mutual consent following a disagreement with chairman Steve Parish over the club's transfer business, leaving Keith Millen to oversee Palace's opening-day defeat to Arsenal.

Ward is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "Obviously not having a manager is unsettling, but the majority of players have been in this situation at some point, so we've just got to get on with it.

"Whoever the new manager may be, we'll just do our best. In the meantime, Keith has taken over, so hopefully we can still put up some results.

"Last year we had a good run of games and there's no reason why it can't happen this time."

Palace face West Ham at Selhurst Park later today.
