Sam Allardyce insists that Everton's players are fully behind him and his coaching team amid rising discontent from Toffees fans.

Sam Allardyce has stressed that Everton's players are fully behind him and his coaching team.

The 63-year-old is coming under increasing pressure from Toffees fans, who unveiled a banner during the 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town calling on him to leave Goodison Park.

Allardyce has already stated that he is trying his hardest to succeed at Everton and has now emphasised that his players have also been giving him everything.

"Our efforts, from the players particularly, have been fantastic," Allardyce told the Daily Mail following Saturday's win at the John Smith's Stadium.

"When you go past that 40-point mark it's very easy for a player to think about his holidays and actually switch off.

"Our players are striding forward. This is the best run of points gained since I've been here. I had a really good start with the first seven games and now this one.

"I think we've collected more points this time than then. We're pushing ourselves as high up in the league as we possibly can."

Everton currently sit eighth in the table and are guaranteed a top-10 finish.
