Everton manager Roberto Martinez has reportedly decided to rival Newcastle United for the signature of Ligue 1 starlet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a whole of host of clubs across Europe in the last six months including Newcastle, Anzhi Makhachkala, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
Martinez has monitored the Saint-Etienne forward's progress closely and believes that the Frenchman would justify a hefty £15m asking price with his performances in the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
The new Toffees boss is yet to make his first summer acquisition at Goodison Park despite recent rumours of a move for Keisuke Honda, Wilfried Bony and Arouna Kone.
Aubameyang admitted earlier this week that he dreams of a move to the Premier League, declaring that Newcastle present an attractive option as he plans for the future.
