Everton forward Wayne Rooney reportedly says goodbye to teammates and club staff ahead of an end-of-season departure from Goodison Park.

Wayne Rooney has played his last game for Everton after saying his goodbyes to fellow club employees on Saturday, according to a report.

The boyhood Evertonian, who joined his former club from Manchester United last summer, was linked with a move to MLS club DC United earlier this week.

According to Sky Sports News, Rooney arrived at Everton's training ground, Finch Farm, on Saturday morning but did not take part in training which was scheduled for 10am.

The report goes on to claim that 33-year-old left at 12.40pm after saying goodbye to a number of staff and players.

Rooney is expected to miss Everton's final game of the season against West Ham United after picking up a knee injury.
