Wembley FC get their star-studded era off to a good start, beating Langford Town 3-2 in the FA Cup.

Wembley FC have kicked off their new era with a 3-2 win over Langford Town in the FA Cup.

Wembley took the lead early when one of their former internationals - Argentine Claudio Caniggia - slid the ball past the Langford goalkeeper.

Daryl Atkins and Brian McBride also went close for Wembley before Langford got their equaliser. The hosts soon restored their lead, however, as Ian Bates put Atkins through, and the striker made no mistake with his finish.

Atkins doubled his personal tally at the start of the second half to give Wembley a 3-1 lead having been found by Caniggia.

This lead was cut in half just five minutes later, however, as a scramble in the box and a defensive mix-up from Wembley allowed Langford back into the match.

The visitors came agonisingly close to grabbing the equaliser on the hour mark, but their striker's effort rebounded off the inside of the post before being hacked off the line.
