Oleg Kononov "satisfied" by Everton draw

Oleg Kononov feels aggrieved that FC Krasnodar did not score more goals against Everton after seeing his side spurn a string of chances.

FC Krasnodar manager Oleg Kononov has declared himself "satisfied" with his side's 1-1 draw against Everton in the Europa League this evening.

The Russian outfit looked to be heading for a surprise victory, until Samuel Eto'o broke their hearts with a leveller seven minutes from time at the Kuban Stadium.

"We tried to play our football the way we can, we tried to attack," Sky Sports News quotes Kononov as saying. "We were successful with this in the first half and scored one goal, but we should have scored more.

"There were some wonderful chances to do that, but maybe we were just unlucky. I'm not saying we ruined things in the second half, but maybe we could have played better. The ending was not that good but I'm satisfied with the result."

Everton top Group H with four points from their first two games.
