Marcelo Larrondo's first goal for Fiorentina earns his side a late 2-1 win over Chievo.

Fiorentina maintained their push for European qualification this afternoon thanks to a late winner from Marcelo Larrondo against Chievo that saw them register a 2-1 victory.

The home side got off to the perfect start on four minutes when Manuel Pasqual scored directly from a free kick.

Chievo bounced back to level before the break when Isaac Cofie equalised from close range.

Vincenzo Montella's side struggled to break down the visitors for much of the second half, with Luca Toni and Borja Valero both missing chances to make the breakthrough.

Chievo's resistance was broken 12 minutes from with Larrondo's first goal for the club.

The visitors felt aggrieved that the linesman did not raise his flag for an offside against Toni in the buildup, but ultimately left Florence with nothing to show for their efforts.
