Freiburg's Max Kruse refuses to get carried away

Max Kruse says that Freiburg are not thinking of European qualification just yet.

Freiburg midfielder Max Kruse has insisted that the club's aim is still to survive, despite their current standing of fifth in the Bundesliga.

Kruse opened the scoring in the 3-2 win away to Werder Bremen at the weekend, but has said that the target remains 40 points for Freiburg.

"Our aim is still survival: get 40 points and then we'll see," Bundesliga.de quotes Kruse as saying.

"We still have tough opponents in the coming weeks. Of course we dream a little, but we are not thinking of Europe just yet.

"I have experienced this with St Pauli before. After round 20 we were well-placed and then suddenly lost 13 games in a row. So therefore I'd better be careful."

Kruse has scored six goals in 22 appearances for Freiburg this season.
