Michael Dawson 'massively disappointed' by defeat at Stoke City

Michael Dawson admits that Hull City's 1-0 defeat away to Stoke City was 'massively disappointing' for the team in their bid for Premier League survival.

Hull City defender Michael Dawson has admitted that Saturday's defeat to Stoke City was 'massively disappointing' for the team.

The Tigers saw their hopes of Premier League survival dented at the Britannia Stadium as they went down 1-0 to the Potters.

While he concedes that it was a "hard afternoon" for Hull against Stoke, Dawson is hopeful of getting back to winning ways at home to Sunderland tomorrow night.

"Saturday's result at Stoke was massively disappointing for us as we went there full of confidence given the run we'd been on, but unfortunately Peter Crouch has come on and nicked a goal," he told the club's official website.

"It was a hard afternoon to get the ball down and play, and to lose the game was massively disappointing especially when the goal looked to be offside.

"Tuesday is a massive game for us. We're back at the KC and we need a win. We've won our last two at home and hopefully we can extend that run."

Hull are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
