Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has admitted that he would be open to the idea of captaining the Netherlands.
The 28-year-old was part of the Dutch squad that lost all three games at Euro 2012 before being eliminated from the competition, but he has revealed a desire to become the new skipper.
"Who should be the new captain? Somebody who can take the lead. Am I somebody like that? Well, I wouldn't say no," he told Algemeen Dagblad.
Holland face Turkey and Hungary in upcoming qualification matches for the 2014 World Cup.
