Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare makes his first Premier League start in Sunday's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has handed midfielder Boubakary Soumare his first Premier League start for Sunday's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

After arriving from Ligue 1 champions Lille in the summer, Soumare made appearances off the bench in the Foxes' opening two Premier League games, and was an unused substitute for clashes with Norwich City and Manchester City, before making his first start in Thursday's Europa League clash at home to Napoli.

The 22 year-old featured for for 78 minutes before being withdrawn with the Foxes leading 2-1, only for the visitors to draw level in the dying minutes and force a share of the spoils.

Nonetheles, Rodgers was full of praise for the French midfielder, saying to reporters after the game: "Bouba, I was delighted with. I thought he had a really good 70 minutes. He tired towards the end, which was why we took him off."

Such a showing has earned Soumare a first Premier League start, as he joins Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans in the engine room for the Foxes' trip to the AMEX Stadium.
