How Liverpool could line up against Red Star Belgrade

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday night's Champions League Group C clash with Red Star Belgrade.

Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways in the Champions League when they welcome Red Star Belgrade to Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds began their Group C campaign with an impressive victory over Paris Saint-Germain but then fell to a late defeat at the hands of Napoli to leave just one point separating the top three teams.

Red Star appear to be the easiest team on paper in the group, with the Serbian outfit losing 6-1 to PSG in their last outing, but Liverpool know that anything other than a victory could leave them playing catch-up for the second half of the campaign.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Jurgen Klopp could line his side up at Anfield.

Out: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Naby Keita (hamstring)
Doubtful: Sadio Mane (thumb), Jordan Henderson (hamstring)

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was taken off at half time of Saturday's narrow win over Huddersfield Town and is unlikely to be risked for this match, despite the withdrawal being precautionary.

Fabinho could therefore be in line for just his second Liverpool start in midfield, while Georginio Wijnaldum is also expected to come back into the starting lineup for Adam Lallana.

Roberto Firmino was also left out of the starting XI for the Huddersfield match and should return, but Sadio Mane may be kept back once again after suffering a broken thumb while on international duty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be hopeful of a recall in defence having missed the last two matches, which could lead to a decision between Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez to partner Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.
