Napoli could reportedly be without two key attacking players for next Tuesday's Champions League opener against holders Liverpool at the Stadio San Paolo.
The clubs have been drawn together in the group stages for a second consecutive year, with the home side winning on the two occasions they met in 2018-19.
However, Football Italia reports that Napoli could be without two players who played important roles in those matches when they welcome the European champions to Naples next week.
Lorenzo Insigne, who scored a late winner in the corresponding fixture and also netted against the Reds during pre-season, is currently struggling with injury and was forced to train alone on Wednesday.
The Italy international could be joined on the sidelines by Arkadiusz Milik, who was memorably thwarted by Alisson Becker in the closing stages of Liverpool's must-win tie at Anfield to send the hosts into the knockout stages.
Milik has been sidelined for a month already but is understood to have suffered a setback in his recovery and will therefore only return to training on Monday.
Both players are expected to miss this weekend's clash with Sampdoria and are also doubtful to recover in time for their opening Group E fixture.
