Jamie Carragher: Liverpool result "not acceptable"

Jamie Carragher labels Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace as 'unacceptable'.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher labelled the team as 'unacceptable' after they threw away a three-goal lead to draw with Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

The Reds went ahead thanks to strikes from Joe Allen, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, before Dwight Gayle scored twice after Damien Delaney had reduced the deficit on 79 minutes.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Carragher said: "Defensively they're not up to being Premier League champions. That was not acceptable.

"Mamadou Sakho makes you nervous. [He and Martin Skrtel] always concede together. It's not good enough. That final 20 minutes was unacceptable. They concede too many goals.

"The back four and defensive side of this team have shown they can't cope with pressure. They're not leaders. Well tonight they haven't and they have thrown away the Premier League title."

The result took the Reds to the top of the Premier League, but means that Manchester City need four points from their final two games to be crowned champions.
