Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish reveals that injured captain Steven Gerrard will not be sidelined for long.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has revealed that injured captain Steven Gerrard will not be sidelined for long.

The midfielder missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty for England in midweek.

Dalglish also revealed that Glen Johnson missed the match at Anfield as a precaution.

When asked if Gerrard would be a long-term absentee, the Scot told Sky Sports News: "It won't be long, and Glen Johnson was out as a precaution as well."

The Merseysiders are now 10 points off the Champions League places after their defeat to the Gunners.
