Dejan Lovren: 'Jurgen Klopp has revolutionised Liverpool'

Dejan Lovren says that Liverpool's improvement under Jurgen Klopp is down to the German manager revolutionising the way that the club approach football.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has said that Jurgen Klopp has not only improved the club's fortunes, but has changed the entire way that the players view the game.

The Reds have lost just once in eight matches in all competitions since the former Borussia Dortmund manager took over from Brendan Rodgers in October, and they stunned league leaders Manchester City with a 4-1 victory at the Etihad on Saturday.

"I do not want to talk about the past," the centre-back told The Guardian. "It was not just [Rodgers's] fault. It was us, the players, too. I want to forget it and just concentrate on the future.

"I think that it is much easier to defend now because we are working much harder than before. We are, I would say, playing like a team now with everyone feeling comfortable. There were a couple of changes when I first came to the club and so many players have gone now. It feels like two different teams.

"It is always easier when a manager has belief in your team and in yourself. It makes it much easier to play and gives you the confidence that, even if you make a mistake, afterwards he will talk to you and explain to you the wrong things and the good things."

Liverpool can seal their place in the knockout stage of the Europa League with a win or a goalless draw against Bordeaux on Thursday.
