Mario Balotelli 'to finalise Liverpool deal in Merseyside today'

Mario Balotelli will reportedly sign a three-year contract with Liverpool today before watching his new team take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Mario Balotelli will reportedly fly to Merseyside today to complete the finishing touches to a deal with Liverpool.

The Premier League club are said to have agreed a £16m fee with AC Milan to sign the controversial forward following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona earlier this summer.

The 24-year-old is said to have completed a medical last week after holding talks with manager Brendan Rodgers, who has insisted that Daniel Sturridge remains his main striker.

According to The Telegraph, Balotelli will sign a three-year deal today before returning to the home of his former club Manchester City to watch Liverpool take on the English champions at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Reports have claimed that the transfer will not officially go through until tomorrow due to today's bank holiday.
