Liverpool have reportedly made an official approach for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
Despite being well stocked for options between the sticks, the Premier League leaders have frequently been linked with Cakir, who has impressed over the past 18 months.
According to Sabah, Liverpool have indicated that they are willing to pay £12.8m for the stopper during the January transfer window.
However, the report claims that the bid has been rejected, leaving Liverpool to contemplate an improved bid or wait until the summer.
Trabzonspor are said to be unwilling to break up their current squad as they bid to end the club's wait for a league title.
Cakir also has four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, putting Trabzonspor under no pressure to cash in one of their most prized assets.
